The Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Simulation Program has been granted reaccreditation in the areas of teaching/education and assessment by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare, the largest health care simulation accrediting body in the world.
This significant achievement for the TTUHSC Simulation Program was brought about largely by the program’s commitment to providing educational experiences and assessments for health care professionals using best practices in simulation-based education. The program continues its dedication to maintaining the highest standards for all learners who train at any of the TTUHSC Simulation Program sites in Abilene, Amarillo, DFW Metroplex, Lubbock, Midland and Odessa.

Areas of Accreditation
The TTUHSC Simulation Program has received reaccreditation in the critical areas of teaching/education and assessment. This recognition underscores the program's effectiveness in preparing health care professionals through innovative teaching methods and rigorous assessment practices.
Multisite Simulation Program
The program operates as a multisite institution, delivering simulation experiences across multiple locations, including Lubbock, Abilene, Amarillo, Dallas, Mansfield, Odessa and Midland. This expansive reach allows diverse and comprehensive training opportunities for students.
International Recognition
Among the 250 accredited simulation centers worldwide, the TTUHSC Simulation Program stands out as one of only 24 centers accredited as a multisite institution. With only 10% of all accredited simulation centers having a multi-site designation, this reaccreditation is an achievement that exemplifies the program's quality and impact.
Recognition at the International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare (IMSH)
In January, the TTUHSC Simulation Program was recognized for reaccreditation at IMSH
2024 in San Diego. The accreditation council also invited members from the program
to present about the simulation scheduler as an exemplary feature. The scheduler was
developed by team members at TTUHSC and provides data for activity planning, scheduling,
utilization studies, cost analysis and future projections.
The TTUHSC Simulation Program expressed their gratitude to everyone involved in achieving
this recognition, including the collaborative efforts of faculty, staff and students
who contribute to the program’s success and growth. This milestone is just one part
of their continued efforts to push the boundaries of health care education.
