Student Health Services Laboratory Receives an A+ Inspection

The TTU Student Health Services Laboratory recently passed its biennial inspection by COLA (formerly Commission on Laboratory Accreditation) with an overall score of 98% out of 100. The inspection covered 14 major areas of laboratory operations, including quality control, personnel competency, proficiency testing, and laboratory operations. There were approximately 330 specific questions covered to ensure the laboratory adheres to all federal and state quality standards.

As a result of these outstanding inspection results, the clinical laboratory is accredited again for the next two years. Laboratory Director, Dr. Hal Larsen, expressed congratulations and utmost thanks to the laboratory's full-time employees, Aleese Handley (Laboratory Manager), Tracey Varis, and Alice Vasquez, as well as the faculty of the Clinical Laboratory Science Program. “We are pleased to contribute to providing the very best care to our patients,” said Dr. Larsen.
