On April 6th, Texas Tech Physicians’ Clinical Practice, Support Department Personnel and family members rolled up their sleeves to prepare and serve a hot meal at Lubbock Impact on 34th and Boston for hundreds of the less fortunate from the Lubbock Community. After a month of fund raising and product collections from all clinical and support departments, Texas Tech Physicians' provided:
  • $206 for the protein portion of the meal
  • 102 bottles of adult shampoo
  • 18 bottles of adult conditioner
  • 25 bottles of adult body wash
  • 35 bottles of children’s shampoo
  • 40 bottles of children’s body wash
  • 24 rolls of toilet paper
  • 10 deodorants

Forty members of the Texas Tech Physicians’ staff along with family members cooked, set tables, served the hot meal, unpacked products and organized the hygiene closet, folded T-shirts for giveaways and cleaned up afterwards.

Texas Tech Physicians’ medical staff, including six Family Medicine, OB/GYN, Dermatology, Internal Medicine and Ophthalmology staff members, four residents and 25 medical students attended to the medical needs of 31 patients in The Free Clinic.

Thanks to all who contributed to the success of this volunteer effort.  Our next date of service will be in the Fall of 2016.  Stay tuned for the next date!
