The Texas Tech University Chapter of the Minority Association for Pre-Medical Scholars (MAPS) was awarded The Region 3 MAPS Chapter of the Year for 2014-2015, out-shining other pre-medical societies in Arkansas, Louisiana, Colorado, Texas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, and New Mexico at the Annual Medical Education Conference (AMEC) held in New Orleans, Louisiana.

Our very own TTU MAPS Chapter President, Promise Ukandu, was nominated and won the National Member of the Year Award against other pre-med individuals from all across America at AMEC as well, earning us national recognition.

The Texas Tech Chapter of MAPS won OVERALL Student Organization of the Year at Texas Tech University for 2014-2015 out of the nearly 500 other student organizations on campus.
