September Benefit Walks

  • Heart Walk
    The 2014 American Heart Association’s Lubbock Heart Walk is set for Saturday, September 20th at 9:00 a.m. at the Frazier Alumni Pavilion. This year’s Heart Walk includes a family-friendly three-mile walk, a health expo, entertainment and more. Participation is free and walkers who raise money are eligible for prizes.

    Co-chairs for the event are Joanna Harkey, senior associate general counsel, and Thomas Tenner Jr., Ph.D., associate dean for Faculty Affairs and Development.

  • Diabetes Walk
    21st Annual Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes benefiting the American Diabetes Association will be on Saturday, September 27th at 9:00 a.m. at Mackenzie Park.
    -Walkers (individuals and teams) walk up to 5 kilometers (3.1 miles)
    -TTUHSC Health and Fitness Fair
    -Climbing wall, spider climber, food, water

  • Lupus Walk
    The Annual Lupus Walk will take place on Saturday, September 20 at the Buddy Holly recreation Area at 10:00 a.m. Walk as an individual or as a team to help in raising Awareness for Lupus.

  • Alzheimer's Walk
    The 2014 Walk to End Alzheimer's will take place on Saturday, September 6th at 10:00 a.m. at the Wells Fargo Ampitheatre in Mackenzie Park. The walk includes one and two mile routes, and former Texas Tech Football Coach Spike Dykes will be the guest speaker for the opening ceremony.
