SPIRIT Spotlight: Cynthia Hester, BSEd, R.N.

spirit-spotlight-cynthia-hester-bsed-r-n- image0Cynthia Hester, BSEd, R.N., is a Texas Tech graduate and has made Lubbock her home. Hester worked as a burn nurse at UMC Health System from 1985 to 2009 and then began working as a resource nurse for the TTUHSC clinics. During the past five years, Hester has worked in almost every TTP clinic providing nursing coverage when departmental nursing staff had to be out.  Hester’s nursing knowledge, work ethic, pleasant and positive attitude and great people skills are recognized and appreciated by faculty, staff and patients. Additionally, Hester serves as a national faculty member of the American Burn Association, teaching Advanced Burn Life Support nationally and internationally.  She also travels extensively with International Outreach for Physicians for Peace and the American Burn Association volunteering in Central America, South America, Italy and Zambia. Cynthia recently lectured for the Texas Tech Global Lecture Series, on her medical mission to Zambia, Africa.
