Last month, Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS) awarded a certificate
of appreciation to Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center (TTUHSC) Unit Manager
RaeAnn Rodgriguez for her efforts in automating the CHAMPS clinic--retiring the use
of paper forms and utilizing PowerChart software for patients in internal medicine.
South Plains Community Action Association’s CHAMPS project is designed to improve
the quality, availability, and organization of health care and support services for
individuals with HIV infections and their families. By reprogramming the electronic
medical records, TTUHSC has helped the clinic meet clinical program measures.
“This automation not only helps the CHAMPS coordinators in treating the patient,”
said Managing Director for Clinical Transportation Cari Crooks, “ but also assists
with the continuity of care provided by all providers.”
Rodriguez received her certificate of appreciation on December 22.
