Have you ever desired to take a leadership course? Or perhaps you are looking for training with some sort of technology you use at work? Maybe you desire role-specific preparation, if you happen to be a Coder or Patient Services Specialist. All of these training categories, and many others, are offered in free courses through our institution.
Bart Sanders, Director of Employee Education, has expanded the number of personal development courses that are being offered at the Health Sciences Center. Sanders, along with Braden Cook, Director of Patient Experience, and multiple others, have designed and are instructing these courses. Some of the courses being offered focus on subjects like handling difficult patient encounters, dealing with change in the workplace, and a variety of leadership focused courses available to employees in all roles. There are many courses offered to train new employees in different programs like Phreesia and Powerchart, but anyone is welcome to attend these courses if you need a refresher on any topic or have acquired new job duties that involve programs like these.
Sanders said that “on-going education for our team members promotes employee engagement, and improves their skills and value to the organization.” Sanders also stated that he hopes School of Medicine staff will take advantage of these course offerings and welcomes suggestions of new course topics that are of interest to employees.
These courses are free and open to all employees in hopes of enhancing professional knowledge and skills. A full list of courses and sign-up access can be found through this link: https://app4.ttuhsc.edu/acme/sompracticedevelopment.aspx.
