Christmas in July : Department Art Supply Drive

Art of Healing

With limited budgets for art supplies in local schools and many students unable to afford art products, Texas Tech Physicians has teamed up with local area schools to help provide "Christmas in July" through necessary art supplies for students and teachers in the classroom.

Each year, Texas Tech Physicians employees provide Christmas in July for local organizations and this year's theme is the Art of Healing. To encourage the arts in these local schools, teachers provided a "wish list" of items that would help promote greater learning in the arts in their classroom. This list includes:

  • Colored Pencils - Prismacolors, Crayola, Prang
  • Crayola Markers
  • Black drawing paper - 12 x 18 or 18 x 24
  • White drawing paper - 12 x 18 or 18 x 24
  • Paintbrushes
  • Crayola or Prang tempera paint
  • Prang tempera cakes
  • Prang watercolors
  • Prang oil pastels
  • Prang chalk pastels
  • Sharpies - all sizes and varieties
  • Pencil sharpeners
  • Ticonderoga pencils
  • Elmer's glue sticks
  • Elmer's Glue-All
  • Elmer's Art Paste
  • Erasers - white vinyl
  • Plastic pencil boxes for storage
  • Scotch Masking tape
  • Clear tape
  • Packing tape

On July 29th, 30th, and 31st, each department will be accepting donations for this drive. Please bring donations to your own department, who will then be able to pass supplies on to the Business Development COPIC. Donated items will then be shared with local schools the first couple of weeks in August.
