Scott Smith has joined Texas Tech Physicians as the Managing Director of the Business Office. Mr. Smith has a BBA and MSA in accounting from Texas Tech University, together with approximately 13.5 years of experience working in healthcare administration, as well as 12 years of accounting experience.  His healthcare experience included management of medical business offices; in day-to-day financial, facility and staff management; team building to obtain organizational goals; development of patient care programs; development of marketing, promotional, and outreach programs to promote facilities, programs, and physicians; and interacting with other organizations to facilitate ongoing services and manage ongoing relationships.  Mr. Smith also has experience with financial reporting and analyses as well as internal control systems to ensure proper and efficient operations and facilitate solid decision making.  Mr. Smith has successfully completed testing for all sections of the CPA exam and will soon be a licensed CPA. He worked in public accounting for one of the “Big-Four” accounting firms early in his career.
