Internal Medicine doubles Komen goal

In honor of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, several departments within the School of Medicine competed in a TTUHSC challenge to raise money for the Susan G. Komen foundation.

Contestants competed to see which department could generate the most team members and raise the most money. The event concluded with the teams participating in the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure on Saturday, October 4th.

The department of internal medicine, led by Brandi McKinnon, finished 1st with a total of 18 team members and $1,952.09 raised! They set a goal of $1,000 and held a jeans week and bake sale among other events to achieve and nearly double their goal!

“I am proud to be a part of a great group of individuals,” McKinnon said. “Whether we come in first place or not, this is a great success.”

Congratulations, to all faculty, staff, residents, and administrative staff in Internal Medicine and thank you for your efforts and contributions to the cause!
