31st Annual Pain Symposium scheduled for health care professionals

The School of Medicine will host its 31st Annual Pain Symposium from 6:45 a.m. to
noon Friday (June 6); 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Saturday (June 7); and 7:30 a.m. to noon
Sunday (June 8) at the Academic Classroom Building, 3601 Fourth St.
The conference, directed by Miles Day, M.D., professor and Pain Fellowship director,
features cutting-edge technology and internationally recognized faculty to offer anesthesiologists,
pain specialists, general practitioners and other health care professionals current
concepts in chronic and acute pain control. Emphasis will be placed on the blending
of scientific knowledge into clinical practice.
The event will give health care professionals who specialize in pain treatment the
opportunity to hear about topics including the evolving use of ultrasound in interventional
pain management and analyze emerging developments in treating chronic pain.
The symposium is sponsored by the TTUHSC Department of Anesthesiology Division of
Pain Management, the Office of Continuing Medical Education and the Pain Center at
Grace Clinic.
