Kelly Mitchell, M.D., Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, was recently
selected to the 2014 Texas Super Doctors List. This is the fourth consecutive year
he has received this honor.
The list will be published in the December 2014 issue of Texas Monthly, which reaches
more than 2.5 million readers, and on the Super Doctors website.
Mitchell, who is the program director for the Ophthalmology Residency, is accompanied
on the list by Marjorie Jenkins, M.D., chief scientific officer of the Laura W. Bush
Institute for Women’s Health and Dr. David McCartney, M.D., chair of the Department
of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, who were recognized last week.
This prestigious honor comes as the result of a rigorous nomination process conducted
by the national research division of MSP Communications in Minneapolis, Minnesota.
The process includes peer nominations, detailed independent research, and a Blue Ribbon
panel review of all nominated candidates. Approximately five percent of Texas physicians
make the final list.
