The patient satisfaction COPIC is sponsoring the Triple Crown of Patient Satisfaction
during July, August and September. This event is designed to stimulate excitement
and enthusiasm in organizational patient satisfaction efforts, encourage teamwork
and determining best practices that will optimize the patient experience in all TTP
clinics.
CAHPS (Consumer Assessment of Healthcare Providers and Systems) is a consumer feedback
system that provides information about health care providers and systems to Medicare
recipients to help them make informed decisions when choosing a health care provider
or hospital. TTP patients are surveyed using the CGCAHPS version (Clinical and Group
CAHPS), that measures patient perceptions of care and service received in a care provider’s
office.
Results from these ratings are used to generate STAR ratings for physicians (1-5)
which will be posted on the CMS website. TTP’s goal is to have 5-STAR ratings for
all providers with no rating below 4.
There will be three events, same as at the horse races:the CG Derby, CG Preakness
and the MP Belmont. A winning department/horse will be crowned in each event earning
an award and points. The total number of points earned from each event will determine
the triple-crown winner. The point scale will be progressive with each event. Departments
are encouraged to use creativity to achieve the highest top box score.
The CG Derby will be from July 1 to 31. The focus of the CG Derby will be the CG-CAHPS
domain of Test Results. The winner will be the department with the highest percentage
of top box marks on surveys returned during July and will be recognized on Aug. 8.
The CG Preakness will run from July 1 to Aug. 31. The focus of this derby will be
the CG-CAHPS domain of Access to Care. The winner will be the department with the
highest percentage of top box marks on surveys returned during July and August and
will be announced on Sept. 12.
The MP Belmont will span from July 1 to Sept. 30. The focus of the MP Belmont will
be the medical practice survey overall percentile rank compared to academic medical
practices. The winner will be the department with the highest overall percentile rank
on surveys returned during the months of July, August and September and will be awarded
Oct. 10.
Leadership from winning departments will identify and present to everyone their best
practices. Ultimately, this will help TTP achieve its mission of improving the health
of all we serve with a SPIRIT of compassion and knowledge and its vision of being
a top-tier medical practice nationally recognized in quality patient care, satisfaction
and value.
Several TTP departments participated in the Triple Crown of Patient Satisfaction.
