Jumper named vice president for health policy

Cynthia Jumper, M.D., has been named vice president for health policy, a new position at TTUHSC, while continuing in her principal role as chair of internal medicine. Ten percent of her time will be spent on her new duties, working with the Texas Medical Association, the Texas Nursing Association, the Texas Pharmacy Association and other professional organizations to advocate for continuing population studies to improve health care delivery systems, influence healthy behaviors and promote prevention programs. Working closely with Ryan Henry and the Texas Tech University System governmental relations team, she will lead the university’s effort to convert academic research into recommendations for effective public health policy and enhanced health care. Jumper will join the President’s Executive Council.
