Former “Scrubs” Actor to Perform, Act to Benefit Medical Student Class of 2017
April 15, 2014
The TTUHSC School of Medicine Class of 2017 will host, “The Todd,” a one-man comedy
show featuring Robert Maschio, actor and comedian from the television series “Scrubs.”
"The Todd" event will begin at 8 p.m. April 18 at the Academic Classroom Building
Room 100.
Maschio, who portrayed Dr. Todd Quinlan on "Scrubs," will perform funny stories from
the set of "Scrubs" and more. Matt Driver, Class of 2017 president and first-year
medical student, said the class wanted an entertaining event to raise funds for the
Class of 2017 projects.
“We invite the community out to see The Todd,” Driver said. “Maschio portrayed a doctor
on television, and it will be comical to see his perspective of that fictional role
compared to what we see in the real-world health care setting. His one-man show will
showcase his comedy and insight to performing on a national television comedy.”
Maschio graduated from Columbia University. After college, he began writing and performing
stand up comedy. He later performed stand up in New York, the Comic Strip and the
Boston Comedy Club in the Village. He began on the NBC comedy “Scrubs” in 2001. His
other television appearances include “Spin City,” “Cougar Town” and “Men at Work.”
