Texas Tech Physicians Off to Record Start in Collections for Fiscal Year

Texas Tech Physicians is off to a great start for the new fiscal year.  Jimmy Williams, director of Provider and Payor Relations, said charges were $12,551,254 in September and $15,078,322 in October for a YTD increase of 13.72 percent from last year.

“Also, and this is the excellent part, collections were  $5,018,691 in September and $5,269,965 in October for a YTD increase of 11.09 percent from last year,” Williams said.  “It is always a good thing to start fast out of the blocks and we have this year. It fact — it is our best start ever.”

Williams emphasized the revenue cycle is a multi-step process which involves everyone and that many people need to be thanked for our success.

“We watch the revenue cycle from start to finish to assure that we get paid the full contractual amount due,” Williams said. “It takes everyone pulling the same direction.”

Williams said if the practice continues at this pace that it would likely meet the goal at the end of the fiscal year.
