April was a record month for Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock in both charges and
collections.
"A record month of collections and charges is a tribute to teamwork and hard work
on the part of hundreds of people," said Brent Magers, Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock
CEO. "Not only our doctors, nurses and others who serve patients, but the people who
negotiate contracts, greet patients, the PSS staff who carefully register patients,
our coders, personnel who work denials, our Business Office personnel. A revenue cycle
is a long and involved process and it takes all parties contributing and doing their
part to produce a great month such as we just experienced."
Charges for the month were $14,341,699, up 8.24 percent over the same month last year.
This beat the previous record of $13,669,662 set in January.
Net collections totaled $6,007,337, an increase of 4.14 percent over April 2012. The
previous record of $5,289,621 was set in March 2010.
