Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock Record Second Straight Month of Excellent Collections
June 18, 2013
Texas Tech Physicians experienced the second month in a row of strong collections
in May. In our most recent month, the practice collected $5.5 million. This amount
follows collections in April of more than $6 million—a new record for the practice.
For the year-to-date numbers, the practice plan is up 5.23 percent over the prior
year.
“Clearly, we are having a great year. I think a lot of it is being driven by the growing
amount of charges being generated in our clinics and from seeing patients in the hospitals.
Our providers are working hard and it shows,” said Shalene Vick, director of Reporting,
Analysis and Budget. “It’s a team effort—but it centers on our providers taking care
of patients and we have a great group of providers these days.”
The revenue cycle is a long, complicated process with many steps,” said Rose Johnson,
managing director of MPIP Business Office. “We in the Business Office are at the
end of the cycle—it starts much further upstream and it takes all of us working together
to have the type of success we are enjoying.”
Texas Tech Physicians is projected to finish this fiscal year in a strong financial
position.
