in Academic Medicine
December 3, 2013
The Hedwig Ameringen Executive Leadership in Academic Medicine (ELAM) Program at Drexel
University College of Medicine selected Elizabeth Kimberli Peck, M.D., as a 2013-2014
Class Fellow.
Peck, the associate dean of Admissions at the Texas Tech University Health Sciences
Center (TTUHSC) School of Medicine, will be a part of this 19th incoming class for
ELAM. ELAM is the only program in North America dedicated to preparing women for
senior leadership roles in academic health sciences institutions, where they enhance
institutional leadership diversity while contributing to organizational strategy and
innovation.
Each fellow is supported by the dean or other senior official of her institution in
her nomination for the program and continued mentorship. Steven L. Berk, M.D., executive
vice president, provost and TTUHSC School of Medicine dean, said this is a prestigious
honor.
“Dr. Peck will represent us among the 54 fellows from across the country including
the National Institutes of Health, Harvard Medical School and the National Heart,
Lung and Blood Institute, just to name a few,” Berk said. “Her contributions as a
physician, teacher and associate dean, make Dr. Peck an exceptional choice to join
this community of highly accomplished leaders.”
