Johnson Receives National Award

Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society honored Kim Johnson, School of Medicine Student Affairs manager with the 2013 Administrative Recognition Award.

Lesley Motheral, M.D., associate professor in the School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics and Alpha Omega Alpha councilor, nominated Johnson for the award.

“Kim is an administrator who wears many hats and has been instrumental in helping our Alpha Omega Alpha chapter for eight years now,” Motheral said. “She was supportive when I rewrote the guidelines for selection to our chapter. Kim goes beyond her job duties working tirelessly making sure every detail is in order.”

Alpha Omega Alpha was founded in 1902. A lifelong honor, membership in the society confers recognition for a physician's dedication to the profession and art of healing. About 3,000 students, alumni, house staff and faculty are elected each year.
Johnson was one of five administrators across the country presented the award.

“Kim is instrumental to helping our TTUHSC chapter,” Motheral said. “She is passionate about her job and is very deserving of this award.”
