Appreciation Reception Honors Cardiology Patient Focus Group Participants

Texas Tech Physicians Patient Services and Patient Satisfaction COPIC recently hosted an appreciation reception for cardiology patients who participated in the Cardiology Patient Focus Group. The cardiology group was the first patient focus group of 2013 for Texas Tech Physicians.  Patient Services sent out more than 1,200 surveys to cardiology patients requesting opportunities for improvement. More than 400 surveys were returned with a plethora of valuable feedback.

Overall, the Cardiology Focus Group Survey revealed the following:
  • 87 percent of patients said their overall experience was excellent
  • 83 percent of patients said their physician was incredibly friendly
  • 79 percent of patients said their nurse was incredibly friendly
  • 76 percent of patients said the front desk staff was incredibly friendly

The same patients who received the survey were invited to the appreciation reception on April 4 at TTUHSC. Many patients came to the reception to hear from Texas Tech Physicians senior leadership.

CEO Brent Magers expressed his appreciation to the patients for their valuable feedback. Magers said Texas Tech Physicians is always looking for ways to improve.

Internal Medicine Chair Cynthia Jumper, M.D., also expressed her appreciation to the patients. Senior Director of Patient Services Dennis Lamb gave a quick presentation on the Focus Survey process.

Patient Services and the Patient Satisfaction COPIC believe the first patient focus group of 2013 was a success. In fact, more patient focus groups or surveys will follow as outlined in the 2013 Texas Tech Physicians of Lubbock Business Plan.

If you are interested in helping with a future patient focus group, or if you believe your clinic/department could benefit from such an event, please contact Dennis Lamb or Tim Fox at 743-2669.
