The second annual Holiday SPIRIT Canpaign benefiting the South Plains Food Bank will kick off Nov. 26. This year the food
drive will include all TTUHSC schools, institutes and offices and last until Dec.
7.
More than 1 in 6 people on the South Plains are served by the South Plains Food Bank.
They could be your friends, neighbors, patients and co-workers. Last year, Texas Tech
Physicians raised more than 6,000 pounds of food and $1,600 for the food bank. This
year, with all schools participating, the goal is 30,000 pounds of food (or a combination
of pounds and dollars that equals 30,000).
Each department will again have a barrel on the first floor hallway of the Pavilion.
The department that collects the most barrels and money wins the Golden Can Trophy,
currently held by the Department of Neurology, and a victory breakfast. A winner will
also be chosen for the best decorated barrel.
