Karen Thomas, senior business assistant for provider-payor relations, will retire July 31 after 13 years at TTUHSC. Thomas began working for the Department of Radiology and has worked for faculty affairs and development, student services, the MPIP business office and provider-payor relations.

“Karen has been a dedicated and hard worker for all the departments she’s supported,” said Lorri Velton, director of provider-payor relations. “We are going to miss her very much.”

More than 90 well-wishers, family and co-workers attended a retirement reception in her honor July 27. Thomas said she is retiring to spend time with her grandchildren and to further her work for the Lupus Foundation.
