REDCap (Research Electronic Data Capture) is a web-based data capture and workflow methodology tool widely used in clinical research. Similar to Qualtrics in that it can manage online surveys and forms while also performing analytics, it is a more prevalent tool in incorporating informatics and data capture methods particular to database research. It is also a collaborative tool with its own consortium of institutional researchers who share information across mostly medical or scientific communities. REDCap is not the only method or tool specific to analyzing data specifically from research reports. Yet it offers a relatively easy, inexpensive way to become acquainted with data management without needing a specific skill level or technical expertise.
