Operation: who's game
Here’s an example. The Office of Alumni Relations helped sponsor Welcome Back events in September for students on all of our campuses. For a touch of nostalgia, we brought along the board game, Operation and had the students see who had the steady hands of a "surgeon." (You may have seen the photos on our Facebook page)
The students enjoyed their walk down memory lane as many of them grew up removing “Spare Ribs,”“Bread Basket” and the rubber band, aka “The Ankle Bone Connected to the Knee Bone” from intricately carved spaces in the game board. The modern version was somewhat less of a challenge, according to most students. We heard comments regarding how much easier the new pieces – a cell phone, bent nail and skull and cross bones – were to remove from the larger, less defined cavity openings. The students were up to the challenge -- many of them breezing through the game with no problems!
Features You'll Only Find Here
Our blog offers two features that you’ll only find here: Class Notes and Blogs by Alumni. We are excited to bring back Class Notes, a feature that was once part of Pulse. The alumni relations staff gathers this information from a variety of resources, but we want to hear from you as well. Let us know about those milestones in your families and careers. We hope you’ll take a moment to visit the Blogs by Alumni page as well. Just as the title says, you’ll find blogs written by our alumni. Presently, we have two very different angles, and we would like to add to that.
So there you have it. Our first blog post. Our goal is for this to become a channel for immediate and engaging conversations with our alumni, future alumni, their families and our friends. Of course, we’ll continue to keep you connected with TTUHSC and alumni activities through our website, Facebook and Pulse.
Thank you for your support!
